Can You Beat the Bot?

Before a battle with a bot can begin, we need to select a human champion. Will it be you?

To throw your hat in the ring, create a piece of art using the specified medium and incorporating two designated prompts.

How it works

Check out the prompts for upcoming episodes, and if any of them inspire you, let your creativity flow.

Sketch/draw/paint a piece of art using the specified medium that clearly includes the designated prompts. Polish your submission until it is battle ready.

Submit your artwork by filling out this form. You will upload a scan, photo, or file of your artwork. Acceptable file formats are JPG, PNG, or GIF, and the maximum upload size is 10MB.

If we select your artwork as the winner, you’ll be designated the human champion for the episode and awarded a $25 Amazon gift card.

If you’re selected as a human champion, we will use AI to add music as your art is displayed, and it will then air in an episode of “Can You Spot the Bot?” going head-to-head with an image generated by AI using the same two prompts and “digitally replicated” medium.

If selected as a human champion, you will need to sign this agreement for us to use your art piece.

Submit your artwork by 11:59 PM ET on the “Submit by” date listed with the corresponding prompts.

This art contest is an exercise of skill and is not a game of chance in any respect whatsoever.

The winning piece of art will be selected based on various factors, including technique, originality, colors, composition, entertainment value, and creative use of the prompts. We’ll also consider which pieces will display best in our “Can You Spot the Bot?“ format.

All decisions as to compliance with the prompts and selection of the human champion are within our sole discretion. The decisions are final, conclusive, and binding upon all entrants.

We strictly prohibit the use of Artificial Intelligence in submitted artwork, since the point of the contest is to pit human-created art against AI-generated images.

As a courtesy, please do not publish, broadcast, disseminate, or otherwise distribute in whole or in part your entry (including submitting it to other contests) until after the winning piece of art for your episode prompts is selected. If your artwork is not selected, we have no additional obligations toward each other – we will not use your piece in any way, and you are then free to publish it as you wish. If your artwork is selected, then please refrain from all of the above until thirty days after the episode of “Can You Spot The Bot?” containing your artwork is released on YouTube.
